Sangumburi is an extinct volcanic crater that is recognised as rare and academically significant in studying the formation creators. This huge crater is Korea’s Natural Monument No. 263, and is a must see for any Jeju visitor. The vegetation within the crater is diverse, filled with trees ranging broadleaf varieties to coniferous, shrubs and flora of temperate to warm climates.
山君不离的火山口不像寄生火山一样火山喷发物推积在下面，而是豁然穿透，这是由短而弱的爆发形成的，因此被称为干型火山口，这不仅在全世界很罕见，在韩国也是唯一的，因此山君不离被指定为天然纪念物第263号。此地还栖息着暖带和温带的针叶树和阔叶树等各种植被，作为火山口植物园有着很高的研究价值。
